The nitty-gritty stands between the lines

Since meaning always arises in the eye of the
beholder and the essence stands between the lines, conscious elaboration of
content, design, wording, and memetic aspects is essential. It is vital to
remember that 100% documentation is impossible. For this reason, the mutual
exchange must continue during a communication measure so that any gaps that
arise can be adjusted.
The meta-model of language explains the filtering of
utterances regarding intentions. Concepts
and terminologies in three ways
- Deletion
eliminates details of the content by using abstract nouns (nominalization), not detailing specific facts (unspecific experiences or key figures), and leaving people and things unclear (vagueness). - Generalizations
simplify messages into commonplaces, whereby the meaning remains unspecified, e.g., through the omission of orders of magnitude (generalization), suggested derivations (universalization), and structures that obscure subtleties (classification). - Distortions
occur through homonyms, synonyms, acronyms, or heteronyms (ambiguity), as well as beliefs, quotations, or expectations (preconceptions), and from analogies, metaphors, and inevitable connections (cause and effect).
Statements ALWAYS originate from the author's
mind and are interpreted differently by various people. Feelings can only be
vaguely described with words, and what is meant is determined by the recipient,
who interprets it through their emotional context. It makes texts much more than the sum of their words.
