The whole is more than the sum of its parts
A whole is a self-contained unit consisting of parts
and the relationships that connect them. The elements are also wholes, which in
turn are wholes consisting of parts, and so on. If we disassemble a ballpoint
pen, its purpose gets lost – except perhaps for the refill. Only when they are
assembled in the intended order do they generate their raison d’être. Or
consider a group of people who bring different skills to the table that
complement one another, resulting in greater performance than if each individual
applied their expertise alone. The team functions as an extended association
space. That is why we speak of: The whole is more than the sum of its parts.
Approaches such as the MeghaCircle, Leadership without
Authorization, or intrapreneurship are indispensable for this.
